Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to have aesthetic injectables at home?
Treatment is only provided after a physician good-faith examination, under an individualized physician order, using practice-supplied FDA-regulated products, with emergency protocols and supplies on hand. All injectable treatments carry risks, and the physician decides whether in-home treatment is appropriate for you.
Who performs the injections?
A California-licensed registered nurse performs the treatment under the order and supervision of a California-licensed physician.
How long do results last?
It varies from person to person and by product and treatment area. Neuromodulator effects are generally temporary and typically last a few months; hyaluronic acid fillers are also temporary, with duration varying by product and area. Results are not guaranteed.
What are the possible side effects?
Common effects include bruising, swelling, redness, tenderness, and asymmetry. Rare but serious events can occur, including allergic reaction, vascular complications, infection, and eyelid or brow drooping. Your physician and nurse will review risks with you before you consent.
Who is not a candidate?
People under 18, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and those with certain neuromuscular conditions, allergies to product ingredients, or active skin infections at the treatment site may not be candidates. The physician makes the final determination.
What is the good-faith examination?
California law requires a physician to perform an appropriate prior examination and medical-indication assessment before prescribing treatment (BPC § 2242). For us this is a telehealth video visit with a California-licensed physician before any treatment is scheduled. If the physician finds treatment is not appropriate, you will not be treated.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Aesthetic injectables are cosmetic and self-pay only. Pricing is confirmed with you before treatment.
